Miriam Davidson
Individual & Couples Therapist and Intimacy Educator
About
Hi, I’m Miriam Davidson—wife, mother of six, and therapist in private practice.
Originally from Boston, MA, I moved to Israel in 2005. I received my degree in Humanistic Integrative Counselling from the PATH Center in 2019 with specialty training in intimacy and couples’ therapy.
In 2018-2019 I worked as an intern therapist at Milam (Family Counseling Center, a division of the Israel Ministry of Health).
I’m an IFS (Internal Family Systems) Level 3 practitioner, and am part of IFS Israel's staff, assisting in their trainings. I resonate with the safety, connectivity, and clarity of this model, and it forms the basis of my approach to trauma and healing.
I’m also a certified JME (Jewish Marriage Education) teacher and was involved in marriage education from 2015-2024. I created Simply Together, a course for married women offering tools for healthy emotional and physical connection in marriage.
I work with adult women and couples who are dealing with trauma, anxiety/depression, and relationship struggles.
I’m grateful to live and grow with my family in Jerusalem, and to witness the profound power of my clients' individual and relational healing.
I see clients in my Jerusalem office and over Zoom. I can be reached at miriamdavidson18@gmail.com.

Why Therapy?
Pain is a universal experience that comes in many forms. At some time or another we all find ourselves coping with challenges or struggling to process painful experiences. These may be traumatic events, complex relationships, or the normative stresses that come with family life.
This can overwhelm us, alter our daily functioning, or cause us to feel lost and isolated. We might also find ourselves resorting to reactions or ways of coping that feel out of alignment with who we are and the values we hold dear.
Therapy is a resource that can help when you've tried other tools and remain stuck. It provides a new relational setting, a fresh lens and an opportunity for skill building. With the right support, you can develop ways to tend to your inner experience, process painful burdens, and begin showing up differently--even if on the outside, your life looks the same.
Ultimately, challenges can be inroads to valuable places inside of us. They afford us opportunities to meet ourselves and our loved ones on a deeper level, expanding our capacity to connect and live more fully.
Sometimes we need someone to accompany us on this journey. This is what I would love to do for you.

Individual therapy
I invite you to clear a space where your feelings and dreams can be heard, where you can connect with yourself and create meaningful change in your life.

Couples/Sex therapy
I believe our relationships are where we truly “meet” the deepest parts of ourselves and others, and marital intimacy is where these encounters are sometimes strongest.

Intimacy education
A multifaceted exploration of the topic of marital intimacy, designed for frum married women looking for clarity and tools regarding this delicate topic.
You are not a problem waiting to be solved.
You are a vessel carrying stories waiting to be heard.... new possibilities waiting to be actualized.
Individual Therapy
I invite you to clear a space where your feelings and dreams can be heard, where you can connect with yourself and create meaningful change in your life.
Whether you are navigating the effects of trauma, anxiety/depression, complex relationships, health challenges, parenting struggles, or lifecycle events such as birth and postpartum, this is your safe space to explore your inner terrain and make positive changes in your life.
There is no one timeline for therapeutic work; you may have undergone recent challenges or be dealing with the lingering impact of childhood trauma. Either way, therapy can offer processing, healing and empowerment.
You are your own wisest navigator; I’m there to facilitate and guide your process. I combine a number of modalities in my work, including IFS, Somatic experiencing, mindfulness, expressive arts and behavioral techniques. Different tools are incorporated as needed for your individual therapy journey.
Together we take stock of your challenges, strengths, and goals. I offer you a safe holding space where we can meet your inner experiences with curiosity and courage, attunement and respect. We work together to meet your needs and cultivate tools for you to take along going forward.

Couple’s / Sex therapy
I believe our relationships are where we truly “meet” the deepest parts of ourselves and others, and marital intimacy is where these encounters are sometimes strongest.
As humans we are wired to seek connection through emotional and physical intimacy in marriage. And yet, for so many reasons, this can be a struggle. Therapy can help you create a more healthy, comfortable, and satisfying connection with your partner.
In couple’s therapy I address a variety of issues including communication, emotional intimacy, conflicting intimate needs, low desire, lack of pleasure, pain disorders, and unconsummated marriage. I also work with couples who are grappling with the impact of childhood sexual trauma on their intimate relationship. I’m committed to providing a respectful and culturally sensitive environment for you to explore this very personal area of your life.
Often the therapy involves education pertaining to sexual functioning and exercises for you to do together at home. Sometimes our work is done in conjunction with treatment from a doctor or pelvic floor physiotherapist. Whether you come individually or as a couple, the ultimate goal is enhanced happiness and closeness in your marriage.
Intimacy education
In my work as a marriage educator I witnessed the central role marital intimacy plays in every married Jewish woman’s life—and how knowledge, tools and support can make all the difference.
I created a curriculum based on my combined fields of experience and have been privileged to teach hundreds of Jewish women around the world and across a broad spectrum of religious communities.
At this time, I'm not actively teaching my course. But as a therapist I'm still involved in intimacy education, which can play an important role in creating change and healing around intimacy struggles. In therapy, education can be personalized, tailored to your needs and sensitivities, while holding space for your personal history and process in this area.
I see this as an example of "content" and "process" in harmony: here content refers to the educational material itself, and process refers to the feelings that come up for you around these topics. I have found that when we attend to both in a therapeutic context, the shifts can be deep and integrated.
